The Big XII Council on Black Student Government consists of the Black Student Governments from institutions in the Big XII Conference. This body of almost 1000 student leaders assembles each academic year to continue to promote Black culture, leadership, positive self-efficacy, political power and awareness, and goodwill of the student body and Black community on the campus of each member institution. This conference recruits the most respected thought leaders. This year, Kansas State University is the proud host of the 46th annual conference themed "Health, Wealth, & Knowledge of Self" and features Maggie Anderson and other heavy-hitters like Kevin Richardson of the Central Park 5 and Tamika Mallory, founder of the Women's March.
NYU's MLK Week during Black History Month is not just another BHM event. It is a highly anticipated tradition for the entire NY community. Since the pandemic compelled a virtual format, the annual all-star panel has attracted a global following.
This year all are invited to this first ever in person / virtual event! The highlight of the week is the University-Wide Event on Thursday, February 16, which will feature a conversation between playwright and composer-lyricist Michael R.
